Elopement session

Hi, I’m Torsten—TJ for short—and I’m here to capture your love story on the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island, where the forests meet the sea, and adventure meets intimacy.

While I may be new to the elopement photography scene, I’m certainly not new to photography. With over a decade behind the lens as a passionate nature and wildlife photographer, I’ve spent years chasing light, waiting patiently for the perfect moment, and learning how to capture raw, natural beauty. Turns out, photographing people in love—especially out in nature—feels like the perfect next step.

Elopements have a kind of magic to them. Whether it’s barefoot on a beach, hand-in-hand under ancient cedars, or standing together on a windswept cliff, these moments are deeply personal and wildly romantic. My approach is relaxed and unobtrusive, allowing you to be fully present with each other while I document your story in an authentic, artistic way.

Ucluelet and Tofino are incredible backdrops for a celebration that’s all about you. Whether you’re here for an intimate elopement, a secret getaway, or a spontaneous “let’s do this!” moment, I’m here to make sure your memories are captured beautifully—rain or shine (this is the west coast, after all!).

If you’re dreaming of a West Coast elopement that’s as real and raw as your love story, I’d be honored to be your photographer.

Let’s make some magic out here.

Yes, I have lived and actively explored the area and I’d be happy to recommend suitable locations for our photo shoot. If you are looking to book in the summer bare in mind that many of the more popular beaches can get very busy, but there are lots of great alternatives.

Turn around from shoot to gallery is usually two weeks, while I usually provide you with a ‘sneak preview’ as soon as possible. This way you have some photo’s to share with friends and family and let the world know that now you are married.
If you have particular requirements for a job to be turned around to a deadline please let me know in advance.

Yes, you can include family and friends by inviting a small group to join your ceremony or by having a reception later.

If your elopement needs to be re-scheduled I will do my best to accommodate that.
Otherwise, preparation is key. We monitor the weather weeks in advance to ensure we have a solid plan in place as well as we always have multiple backup options ready.

If you are planning to have your elopement within the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, you will need to acquire a permit from Parks Canada. More information can be found here.
